My life...as I see it..

I had second, third, fourth thots about writing this blog. After all, my life is not very interesting with basically no social life outside work and the family. Amende aku nak tulis dalam blog ek? Tetapi disebabkan oleh perasaan perasan yang meluap-luap mengatakan..."tulislah, tulislah...", akak hentam jer lah..

My life as I wrote in the profile basically centers around work and also the family. Friends??? Work colleagues lah! Contacts with close friends from my school days are quite minimal as most of them are in JB, my hometown. I only see them when I go back to JB which is like average 3 times a year?? Friends outside work are friends that are also friends of my hubby....(eh..betul ke ayat nih??)...and these people have been with me through thick and thin.These are the people I see on a regular basis. Their kids are almost like mine and vice versa.

No social life? Hmmm...betul ke statement ni? When I do go out WITHOUT the family, it's usually..no....it's ALWAYS for work. Fun tak? Fun nyer.... Tapi kan...kalau cerita kat orang kan mesti orang kata "eh...bestnyer... you get to socialise for work..." Dia orang tatau...at the end of the day it's still work..some people think it's all fun and play..tapi tatau...kerja yang kadang-kadang (sometimeslah) tersangatlah sakitnya..(direct translation for sick...I get sick of these dos...). Aku kalau boleh lepas kerja...nak terus balik rumah duduk dalam kerang (recline in my shell lah..)Akak kalau boleh tak nak nih pegi, pegi function jumpa, jumpa client,pergi launch yang kengkadang tersangat lah busannya...

TETAPI...wah! huruf besar nih..I would not trade my job for another!!! Tolak lah apa benda yang tak suka tu...I REALLY DO LOVE WHAT I'M DOING... Walaupun gaji kiew seciput dan tak sepadan dengan kerja yang berlambak2, tetap suka nih..passion punya pasal...wa cakap lu..And the recognition that the company gives me thus far is more than I had imagined. Appreciation tu belakang kira lah...tunggu jer lah bonus and increment tahun nih...

When I do go out, NOT for work it's chow time, the movies, window shopping, dvd hunting with the family. Totally our time together. So for me it's between just work and family..and oh yes...my studies...Senangkan? Tak der nak go lepaking with friends for drinks, or movies or gym or games or apa2 pun ler on my own.... IF am not out with the brood, or for work or for my course at Uni, I will be at home..No hard decisions to make. Come to think of it, memang tak de time pun...Now , I have to selit masa to visit my aging mak more often in good ole' JB. Just thinking about her makes me near tears..but that another story folks...

So this blog WILL be about my uninteresing life..my thots..and whatever I need to vent on..if you care to read..."Welcome to my life, peeps"...Rasa macam redundant plak post nih..Ish..hentam sajalah...

Ada pun idea n ak tulis .. Takpe nak citer pasal lepak kat Salma pun ok per. Citer pasal sudu yg datang dangatlah bersih dan masih dalam plastic ker, Lin mengamuk ker, Nuar meroyan ker hehehehe....

Burp! Alhamdulillah... dah berbuka semua? We berbuka at home today. Actually since puasa started 9 days ago, memang kami berbuka at home. We prefer it that way. Tak kelam kabut nak solat maghrib di luar although Alhamdulillah sekarang ni banyak tempat berbuka dah provide tempat bersolat. Tapi mana boleh beat buka at home, lepas buka boleh terus lepak-lepak atas katil solat Maghrib kan? kan? So we either tapao from one of the shops near home or wherever we fancy or I would cook simple stuff for buka. Today our menu was : our usual brown rice, ikan goreng selar kuning (yellow thread fish), kangkung goreng belacan ( water spinach fried with prawn paste chilli), acar buah (bought from my cousin) , my husband’s telur dadar (omellete) and for sweets, I made jemput jemput . This is what we call these banana balls or orang belah sini panggil cekodok (I could never associate this beauties with an animal name, though... kodok sounds kinda gross). Japan, April 2018

I was in Tokyo last month. Alone... well there were millions of people in Japan but yeah I was travelling alone. Up till the night I boarded the plane, I was still asking myself “Oi! Apasal nak pergi sorang arr? Japan pulak tu... London kan senang? Gang ramai, semua cakap English” Ok panic kejap tapi tak boleh keluar kapal terbang dah.. So, yup, there I was on that MH night flight with an itinerary for 8 days in Japan. No turning back, perempuan! April was my birthday month and what I wanted was to spend it quietly alone. Anyway, last year I had enough birthday celebrations to last me till this year. Alhamdulillah for good friends and family! Sampai Narita at almost 7am. First time in Tokyo and how do I buy a train card? With a lot of asking (ayam and itik bercakap) and hand gestures. Salam Ramadan

Assalamualaikum and Salam Ramadan! Wow! Hello! Am back! Been a while. 6th day of Ramadan and I’ve been quite good (I think) managing my food intake. Saya sudah tua la; have to start being more serious about what I put in this old engine. So, I was in a 10 days detox program just before Ramadan and managed to bring the weight down by 2.7kg; not much but good for me as it has sort of kick off a better eating habit. People who knows me are well aware that I love food. I used to run a lot so the weight was somehow kept in check. Now that I have significantly decrease my running mileage, the weight has become quite stagnant if not, moved up a bit! Eek! So for those interested, this is my go-to recipe for sahur, which is super easy and super healthy. It’s the Chia Seed Pudding. Lots of recipes online but here’s mine: I use a mason jar this.
