Sunway and (home makeover part 1)


Haida doing the gua.com crossoversLast weekend was our Sunway Pyramid mall tour. I was on duty on both Saturday and Sunday...Oh...what a way to spend the weekend. The only consolation was we were in a mall instead of in the sun like Jom Heboh. Mati kerin la aku kalau kena gi macam Jom Heboh!! Sunway was ok lah...I've been to enough of our mall tour over the years to predict what kind of crowd we can expect, whether the same people who turned up at almost all our mall tours will make their appearances again...but nevertheless, my hope is that we have somehow reached our audience in some ways and they will continue to support the network. There goes the vermillion wall in the hall.

On the home front, my lil sister has been hard at work painting our walls. What started out as a plan to just change the vermillion feature wall in the hall has turned into a massive project which has turned our home topsy turvy, but of course not without some very nice results. Now, I only need to get new furnitures...huwarggh!!! So, over the weekend while I was in Sunway, hubby, the kids and our helper actually stayed home to help my sister with the painting...of course after much dilly dallying , and discussion on the colours and other stuff. Even before I left for Sunway on both days had to first go to the hardware shop to get paint and equipments.

Yesterday night, when I returned from Sunway, terkezutttt badaksss akak tengok warna bilik kieww yang selams ini feature wallnya merah itiewwww telah bertukar menjadi...oh tidakk!!!! like Khairin said..."tinggal letak logo ntv7 jer"....PURPLE!!!!!! Hehehe...tapi cantikkkkkk.....When hubby chose the purple shade I never thought it will actually look like our corporate colour...but YES!!!! It does!!

Lepas kemas-kemas last night, and when hubby came back from his futsal game...at 2am i slept peacefully in my new purple room....

Burp! Alhamdulillah... dah berbuka semua? We berbuka at home today. Actually since puasa started 9 days ago, memang kami berbuka at home. We prefer it that way. Tak kelam kabut nak solat maghrib di luar although Alhamdulillah sekarang ni banyak tempat berbuka dah provide tempat bersolat. Tapi mana boleh beat buka at home, lepas buka boleh terus lepak-lepak atas katil solat Maghrib kan? kan? So we either tapao from one of the shops near home or wherever we fancy or I would cook simple stuff for buka. Today our menu was : our usual brown rice, ikan goreng selar kuning (yellow thread fish), kangkung goreng belacan ( water spinach fried with prawn paste chilli), acar buah (bought from my cousin) , my husband’s telur dadar (omellete) and for sweets, I made jemput jemput . This is what we call these banana balls or orang belah sini panggil cekodok (I could never associate this beauties with an animal name, though... kodok sounds kinda gross). Japan, April 2018

I was in Tokyo last month. Alone... well there were millions of people in Japan but yeah I was travelling alone. Up till the night I boarded the plane, I was still asking myself “Oi! Apasal nak pergi sorang arr? Japan pulak tu... London kan senang? Gang ramai, semua cakap English” Ok panic kejap tapi tak boleh keluar kapal terbang dah.. So, yup, there I was on that MH night flight with an itinerary for 8 days in Japan. No turning back, perempuan! April was my birthday month and what I wanted was to spend it quietly alone. Anyway, last year I had enough birthday celebrations to last me till this year. Alhamdulillah for good friends and family! Sampai Narita at almost 7am. First time in Tokyo and how do I buy a train card? With a lot of asking (ayam and itik bercakap) and hand gestures. Salam Ramadan

Assalamualaikum and Salam Ramadan! Wow! Hello! Am back! Been a while. 6th day of Ramadan and I’ve been quite good (I think) managing my food intake. Saya sudah tua la; have to start being more serious about what I put in this old engine. So, I was in a 10 days detox program just before Ramadan and managed to bring the weight down by 2.7kg; not much but good for me as it has sort of kick off a better eating habit. People who knows me are well aware that I love food. I used to run a lot so the weight was somehow kept in check. Now that I have significantly decrease my running mileage, the weight has become quite stagnant if not, moved up a bit! Eek! So for those interested, this is my go-to recipe for sahur, which is super easy and super healthy. It’s the Chia Seed Pudding. Lots of recipes online but here’s mine: I use a mason jar this.
