It's here. Came before I could even utter the word "wait, m not ready!!" Today, Alhamdulillah I turned the big 40. We went out for dinner yesterday. I felt like having fiish so we headed to Fish & Co. in OU. Langsung tak suspect apa when hubs and Aisyah left the place after dinner, while I hang around with the rest. I thot he was going for his smokes, while Aisyah said she's checking out the music shop. In a while, they came back with the birthday cake for both me and Imran. So sweet! Thanks love!!


After shopping for some clothes for Zaim, we headed home. I checked out my facebook and saw countless birthday wishes from friends near and far. Thankful for the friendship.

I thot that was the end of it, but then at 12am my sayangness came again with pressies...Hahaha...they sure know how to make my day. With home made card by Aisyah and a mug that shouts 40! (she can't make it anymore obvoius) with a NIKE pink and yellow track top which I absolutely love!! I am a cooler Sue Sylvester, I say!!

And today in the office, I had 2 birthday sing song; one after the morning meeting at the 5th floor and another by the rest of my colleagues in the office. Thanks for making my day guys!

What does being 40 mean to me....? That will be answered in another entry..InsyaAllah...For now, this old lady needs her beauty sleep!!

p.s AISYAH did a funny entry on this birthday here... Thank you girl...you are our pillar of strength..

Burp! Alhamdulillah... dah berbuka semua? We berbuka at home today. Actually since puasa started 9 days ago, memang kami berbuka at home. We prefer it that way. Tak kelam kabut nak solat maghrib di luar although Alhamdulillah sekarang ni banyak tempat berbuka dah provide tempat bersolat. Tapi mana boleh beat buka at home, lepas buka boleh terus lepak-lepak atas katil solat Maghrib kan? kan? So we either tapao from one of the shops near home or wherever we fancy or I would cook simple stuff for buka. Today our menu was : our usual brown rice, ikan goreng selar kuning (yellow thread fish), kangkung goreng belacan ( water spinach fried with prawn paste chilli), acar buah (bought from my cousin) , my husband’s telur dadar (omellete) and for sweets, I made jemput jemput . This is what we call these banana balls or orang belah sini panggil cekodok (I could never associate this beauties with an animal name, though... kodok sounds kinda gross). Japan, April 2018

I was in Tokyo last month. Alone... well there were millions of people in Japan but yeah I was travelling alone. Up till the night I boarded the plane, I was still asking myself “Oi! Apasal nak pergi sorang arr? Japan pulak tu... London kan senang? Gang ramai, semua cakap English” Ok panic kejap tapi tak boleh keluar kapal terbang dah.. So, yup, there I was on that MH night flight with an itinerary for 8 days in Japan. No turning back, perempuan! April was my birthday month and what I wanted was to spend it quietly alone. Anyway, last year I had enough birthday celebrations to last me till this year. Alhamdulillah for good friends and family! Sampai Narita at almost 7am. First time in Tokyo and how do I buy a train card? With a lot of asking (ayam and itik bercakap) and hand gestures. Salam Ramadan

Assalamualaikum and Salam Ramadan! Wow! Hello! Am back! Been a while. 6th day of Ramadan and I’ve been quite good (I think) managing my food intake. Saya sudah tua la; have to start being more serious about what I put in this old engine. So, I was in a 10 days detox program just before Ramadan and managed to bring the weight down by 2.7kg; not much but good for me as it has sort of kick off a better eating habit. People who knows me are well aware that I love food. I used to run a lot so the weight was somehow kept in check. Now that I have significantly decrease my running mileage, the weight has become quite stagnant if not, moved up a bit! Eek! So for those interested, this is my go-to recipe for sahur, which is super easy and super healthy. It’s the Chia Seed Pudding. Lots of recipes online but here’s mine: I use a mason jar this.
