Foodgasm weekend rambles

This would be the ideal me...carefree, no worries, a walk in the park, all the greens around..best kan? kan?kan?

This was taken by Aisyah after last Sunday's Foodgasm Fest in TTDI Rimba Park. This picnic setting food fest of sort, with clothes, shoes and other nick knacks thrown in as well, for sale that is. We came towards the end of the fest, as we had other prior engagements. The rain just stopped and it was cool and nice to be able to walk the park with the family.

The whole carnival like atmosphere, combined with the outdoor setting was a refreshing change to walking around in a mall, and the music, yes the indie music was great as well.

Families, hipster, kids flocked the otherwise quiet park for the food tasting, people watching taking welfies and selfies. If only we can have the same number of people running and walking in the park as a form recreation. Now, that's something!!  Maybe we can organise a run, walk and eat carnival..hehe
My friends made a brisk sale selling their Flame Grilled Burgers. On normal days, check them out at Sri Devi Restaurant in TTDI. They're yummy...the burgers, I mean.

Joey sells his famous peanut butter there as well. At RM13 per bottle this beauty comes in chunky and smooth variants. I know he sells them at a few locations around PJ, Check out his instagram @pualdidan for more information.

I love seeing all these new vendors, all young and ambitious selling their wares. I love their independence and their drive. Of course, everything comes with hard work , but nothing beats being your own boss. Nothing beats not clocking in at 8.30am and clocking out at 6pm, day in and day out, Nothing beats not having to attend endless meetings and nothing beats spending more time doing things YOU love, no matter how hard they are.

So this is what I learnt from one of the functions I attended recently. I guess all these young vendors are already practicing them. I just have to start doing the same soon,

1.Explore your skills
2. Identify opportunities in your community
2. Focus your effort
You don't have to know what you want to do, you just need to know what you don't want do to start moving

Do what you love, and money will come

It's amazing what you can do if you love what you do -- James St John
And above all, pretty soon I have to learn that , I need lesser than I think.
Allah ease, InsyaAllah
