Salam Ramadan

Assalamualaikum and Salam Ramadan!

Wow! Hello! Am back! Been a while.

6th day of Ramadan and I’ve been quite good (I think) managing my food intake. Saya sudah tua la; have to start being more serious about what I put in this old engine. So, I was in a 10 days detox program just before Ramadan and managed to bring the weight down by 2.7kg; not much but good for me as it has sort of kick off a better eating habit. People who knows me are well aware that I love food. I used to run a lot so the weight was somehow kept in check. Now that I have significantly decrease my running mileage, the weight has become quite stagnant if not, moved up a bit! Eek!

So for those interested, this is my go-to recipe for sahur, which is super easy and super healthy.
It’s the Chia Seed Pudding. Lots of recipes online but here’s mine:

I use a mason jar this.

Just use 5 tablespoons of organic chia seeds ( I bought mine at Bake With Yen). They are cheaper than at your name brand organic shop.
I use full cream milk ( none of the low fat variety for me. What are they? Just diluted milk!) . I have used santan ( yes, those that came in cartons) and I have also used Coconut Water.
I also added some Rasberry Puree ( also from baking shop) and a spoon of honey.
Depending on what I have in the kitchen, i usually add fresh blueberries and walnuts.

Just prepare all this the night before and it will be ready for your sahur! Yummy!

Amazing how this little kecik biji chia seed can keep you ok till buka puasa.  They are super food which retains liquid and keeps your hydrated the whole day.

So try la! Will share more when I rajin.
Korang pun malas baca kan?!! Hwahahahaha..
