Random Rambles of Lotfi

For each bad stuff that has happened in my life, I could think of at least 7 good ones...not bad eh?! 1. Me and hubby watched the "Then & Now" Concert in Genting, which we enjoyed immensely coz after almost 2 decades of waiting, Howard Jones, Limahl, Paul Young and Bananarama came to our shore to perform. Pedulik lah dia orang dah tua... Paul Young can still do a body slamming slide, Limahl as he said it still has nice butts and Howard Jones still sound as good as he did yonks ago....Wooohoooooo!!!! and Bananarama probably had face lifts (jealous!!!) 2. Boss announced our bonuses and I managed a 4.68 months. Yay!!! Akak kayo!! Thanks boss!!! 3. I bought new stuff which includes lots and lots of CDs, handbag, jewellery...call me lame...but these are motivating factors for hard work.. 4. I managed at least once a week yoga the past few weeks 5. I'll be back in JB this 19th for SIGS, JB alumni get together 6. Old bosses parted ways for green...

Gosh! It's been so long since I last merapuing in this bloggy...In that span of time so many, many things took place. My maid called me while we were in JB and informed us amidst tears and kemenggigilan yang melampau that our house has been broken into the nite before...Mak!! Abislah laptop mak!!! And the my 80gb external hard drive full of info of the last at least 7 years of my life and work. Sedey yang amatz... And then I remembered I have some jewellery lying around and when I asked her to check she said it' s still at its place. Alhamdulillah...Tapi at that point of time, I felt, kalau penyamun tu took my jewellery instead of my lappy pun aku rasa ok lagi kot?? Nanges!! Making a police report was another kesakitan hati yang amatz!!! If I elaborate here, I'd probably start a cursing frenzy so daripada aku buat dosa kering baik aku simpan jer... I am now using a temporary laptop loaned by the office, dunno till when, dun care lah..as long as work gets done. I wa...

Ey...It's 7pm already...Still in the office. I'm telling myself to not feel gulity about writing in the office. Dah abis time keje ah...Persetankan kerje!!! Wah!! Statement berani mati nih.. The last few days, when I went out for lunches with friends and clients, tak der cerita lain..politics, politics, Samy Vellu, Khir Toyo, KJ, Pak Lah, DAP, BN, lalalalalalala..... Akak makan Japanese lunch pun tak der selera tau... Hari ni kami jumpa 'Abang Misai' Siti Nurhaliza, pun cerita politik jugak...among other stuff lah..I must say though, NOW..I'm not surprised why Siti fell in love with him. I had my reservation before this..hik.. I'm finally taking my leave tomorrow and Friday..Yeay!!! Balik JB!! Finally, after so long..I will get to see my Mak...Miss her terribly..Not forgetting, the ice kacang, mee rebus Baidali, murtabak Singapore...Best, best..lalalala....Salmah!!! Gigit jari lah kau... Sunday – a day after election day.. This weekend, a lot of people (termasuk lah aku )suddenly got so interested in politics, talked about it endlessly, smsed about it non-stop, tetiba menjadi penganalisis politik tak bertauliah, watched the most hours of local news in the hope to see a rejected, dejected Samy Vellu (walaupun sampai Buletin 1.30 on TV3, lubang hidung Samy Vellu pun tak kelihatan) …hehehe…. This weekend, I stopped hoping for people to make me happy and decided to make myself happy, by; - cooking my kid’s favorite Asam Pedas Daun Kesum and watched them makan sehingga menjilatz jari (lagi sedap dari KFC ok???). Happy nyer; - going to the gym semasa hubby ku itu keluar minum-minum chit chat politic kot?!!, expending 119 calories on the treadmill, and halfway through the exercise bike, saw my “KHINZIR BROTHER??”- ALWIN walking in and he asked me to try out the Yoga class, which I did and I found out that Yoga is freaking hard… By the end of the class, I was sw...

Hubby woke me up early (well, at least for a Saturday) on Election Day. Aisyah has an early appointment with Dr Azmi, the neurologist at DSH. We have been going to Dr Azmi since last year for what started as ‘lazy right eye’. After a few blood test, CT scan and X Ray, he concluded that it was a condition called Mysthenia Gravis, where her antibodies are in excess and as a result some parts of her bodies may become weak. She has been put on medication which she probably has to take for the rest of her life. And today when I asked Dr Azmi, until when, he said “Only time will tell…” Sigh! And we’ll have to see him again in 3 months. In the mean time, I will keep on praying that Aisyah remains well and the condition does not affect her life significantly. After breakfast at Puteri in TTDI, we head to hubby’s office, where he has to finish of some work for the rest of the day. Oh...I need a break...I fraking hate being around pretentious, hypocrites...who can hoohaahoohaa in front of you, and later stabs you in the back almost effortlessly. Pergi jahanamzzzlah... The only consolation is I truly believe that what goes around comes around and so far it really turned out to be true, at least for me. I'm so looking forward to the weekend!! Managed to catch Zan Azlee's "I am Muslim too" screenings at Help Uni theatrette yesterday. Picked Aisyah up at home. She has this thing about anything indie; whether it's movie ka, docu ka, music ka..She has started to ask us for handycam and has already listed subject matters that she wants to shoot...Deal with that later lah.. Anyway, after getting lost trying to get to Help Uni and frantic calls to Zan and a few other people, we finally got there. Saw a few familiar faces. Amir Muhammad was there selling his books. We bought one " New Malaysian Essays 1' which he autographed for Aisyah and later he warned me about some 'foul' languages in the book....Matilah mak dah bayar baru cakap...hehehe. All that forgotten when I hear Amir's familiar laugh..One guy with the funniest laugh I've ever met... The movie was, should I say quite interesting. I just don't get it. Things's are supposed to be changing for the better, but the vibes I feel around the office is somehow not that positive..I guess it's the uncertainty of everything.. or rather things that we are not aware of yet...Freaking freaky!!! Ni lah cerita orang makan gaji...We move according to the management's direction. And I trust they know what's best for all of us..right? Matilah...skepulasi macam-macam kat office sekarang nih.. The whole bunch of us, was in Bandung last weekend for a brainstorming session to come out with killa content for 2009. Fudge!!! We're talking 09 already???!! I'm thinking that it's only February and I hardly have enough legs and hands to do what I'm doing now... Bandung was cool, it rained on most days. The sessions was intense, but we came out with pretty good stuff. Watch out world, here we come!! Huwargh.. The best part of Bandung was actually what Bandung is good for...Shopping!!! With a capital S!!! Lin went gaga over how dirt cheap stuff are..and showed her appreciation by falling in the rain in front of Rumah Mode..hehe..wicked!! The peeps that went to Bandung were a kool bunch and we had plenty of laughs. The biggie boss came on the 3rd day, I guess checking out whether we have spent the company's money effectively...haha..sorry boss... Managed to squeezed in a massage session in the hotel, together with Lin..The massage was so, so..b...

The kids' company + friends coming over for roast chicken and potatoes dinner + seeing friends at KLCC, even for a group discussion + the opportunity to nap + some lovin + dinner with friends at good ole uptown = a PERFECT WEEKEND...

Hubby and I went for dinner at Naili's place in Damansara Uptown yesterday nite for some quiet time without the kids....penat tau...dah 4 hari bergelumang dengan budak-budak....So after today's hassle of: 1. sending Aisyah and Mira for her Sweeney Todd and picking them up after.., 2. hubby and Imran's trip to the barber, and 3. visit to Fizah's 'currently being renovated house' with their cool open air rooftop - big enuff for futsal session.. ..we went to have dinner. Ordered Sup Ekor (kalau kat Indo namanyer Sup Buntut, ya)and Mexican Burritos (nothing to do with Buntut...matilah tema makanan buntut) at Naili's. Lion dance at Ah Kong's We decided not to join the usual CNY get together in Malacca with my mother in law's side of the family, and bravely spend these 4 days at home, well at least, most of the days The sushi party Kasut Khairin in between the escalator So far, we have managed to catch the movie ATONEMENT dengan Kiera Knightly dan James Mc A voy yang sangat aku suka itu.. went twice to the newly opened KAYU near hubby's office, grocery shopping at TESCO, watched lion dance in front of my neighbour, Ah Kong's house, lots and lots of sushi at Sushi King, cup cakes from CHIC Cupcakes, lepak at Fizah's house, HAIRSPRAY today...hmmm...jalan-jalan in Curve..where I saw NAZLAM having coffee at Gloria Jean's. You ARE looking more relaxed...

As I'm writing this, I'm watching HAIRSPRAY with the rest of the brood. To tell you the truth, the main attraction of buying the DVD cetak rompak in the first place was my undying love for John Travolta..(jangan marah sayang..) and seeing him in this movie made my admiration for him soar even more.. Ever since his Grease days, I've yet to see him in another musical..and him playing a big woman in this one., singing and dancing again is so much fun.. Best siot!!!But I prefer Danny Zucko anytime lah...Anyway, I love movies where underdogs win the day!

I don't understand people who are defensive when you point out their mistakes as if it's my fault...Tak boleh ker accept mistakes as a learning process, sayang? Some time in your course of life, someone's going to say it straight to your face and I sure hope you'll be ready for it...Nobody's perfect...But the effort we take to learn from our mistkes is what makes us at least near purrfect...Sorry folks, I'm just venting frustrations..

My table at the good old office, a big mess..kerja banyak lah katakan. Matilah!!! Mek boleh menang gelaran meja paling berserak!!! Ha...much better working condition, new table, new lappy, cool huh? Ewah, ewah!! Budak-budak nih semua....kerja,kerja!..Gelak-gelak plak....Notice the poles...dia orang kata kalau boring-boring boleh buat pole dancing...ewah! Quite sometime already since we moved to this new office that I wanted to post an entry about it but didn' have a chance to.. So today, when half of the office is gone for their CNY break, even though my workload is substantial, ish...tak kisah lah, holiday mood...... Well I can't show the new office without showing you the old one, right? Just to make a comparison between yang lama dengan yang baru...This new office is an open concept office, where the closest person sitting near me is just 2 footsteps away. Which means, no private jokes or anything private unless you want the whole office to know the private stuff in y...

Hari Ahad yang agak mendung hari ni...Fizah ajak pegi cari sungai nak picnic...She cooked her delish nasi lemak...I bought muffins and cakes from the bakery...hehe...We found nice river near Kg Janda Baik. The kids became prunes in the water..We ate, we berendam, we nap...we ENJOYS...huhuhu...Am back at home now.... The weekend is almost over...And if I may say so...what a good weekend it was....So many things to be thankful for...Alhamdulillah...

Semalam saya pegi KG NEKMAT...well..not really but Matrade convention center was completely transformed to become that kampung. When I received the invitation for Ning's wedding, I was really looking forward to go and I'm glad I did, if not to experience the whole scenario, to watch Ning and Omar enjoying their big day... The happy guests and the whole ambience of the place from where this pic was taken Hubby was not in the mood to go so Imran came with me. Lin, Shannen and Kak Intan was already seated in the hall when we got there....Gosh!!! I was really, really impressed with the whole set-up. Betul-betul macam dalam kampung wedding, with goats, ayam, ikan keli dalam kolam, half the guests sitting on raised platforms...and even the menu was a complete kampung fare... Dimana dia anak kambing saya...la la la la Ada my favorite ubi rebus makan dengan sambal tumis ikan bilis yang sangat world...got putu piring, apam balik, people cutting up jackfruit yang Imran ulang 2 ...
