It's a new day, a new dawn...and I'm feeling gooooddd....
When I first started this blog, I sorta told myself that I would not blog about work. Things related to work, the office, and the bosses especially when you bitch about them is a no-no zone for me for fear of my word to be used against me. Macam ler the boys on the 5th floor ada time nak baca blog-blog ciput nih. They have other pressing issues to think about lah..
So all this while I’ve been really touching things on the surface, telling you things about the fun stuff that we do at work, the events, our new programs (aku kerje TV lah)..macam korang tak tau….Today, our biggie boss announced our new CEO since our last CEO left last week…Eh! I didn’t blog about that meh?? Can’t believe I missed that one out. So today, for the first time in the history of the company, the management has decided to assign a female, girl, woman CEO for our company. So what? So what…u said?? So this is like a freaking first ok? The first CEO who’s not a MAN it’s a WOMAN with a WO at the front of MAN you know..Hahaha…I like. Don’t know how that’s gonna affect me…but I feel good. Lalalalalala….(menyanyi nih). Boss, boss besar sumer…thank you for accepting that a woman is good enough for the job. I believe you have the rightman woman for the job!!
And today another milestone in my career, I feel… I have been assigned a new role, taking charge of the brand communications area of the company. All these while my job title was Brand Manager, which means I managed the brand lah but I felt somewhat I did not embrace the whole job scope of managing the brand. I was merely managing programs/content which may or may not have fit the whole brand positioning altogether depending on the program budget allowance. Some programs may just be there to get viewership but may not fit the positioning of the network. But when you do brand communications, I feel, you are in a better position to bring out the best of the brand, playing the brand perception game without necessarily having the most fitting content for the brand…Geddit??? Geddit??? Whatever!!! I still have lots to learn myself. Thank you to my beautiful (ini bukan mengampu ok, dia memang chantek and kalau aku tak cakap pun dia dah tau) boss for the opportunity.
It’s a new day, it’s a new dawn and I’m feelinnnnngggggg goooood….Hope for the best, give me strength to carry out this responsibility, wish me luck!! Amiiiinnnn…..I look forward to a fabulous 2009.
p/s My friends in the office gave me a nice white gold pendant for my graduation!! Giler sweet diaorang nih..I was not expecting it at all and that’s the best bit. Thanks Lyn, Angie, Anuar and Shikin!!! You all giler, giler best in thewellworld!!!
