Random Rambles of Lotfi

We just came back from the matinee show of P.Ramlee, the musical... I felt so overwhelmed with the whole thing that I can't help crying...The last time we were in Istana Budaya for a musical was for Grease a lot of years back and I remember thinking at that time, bila lah orang Malaysia nak buat musical at this class....? Gambar di ambil masa siaran tergendala for about 3 mins..walaupun dalam IB tak boleh amek gambar.. And today, aku terpaku dan terpesona...wah...tak sangka..it was really brilliant...the set transition, the sets, the actors, the extras...gosh! they must be so proud of themselves! Singaporeans pun dah tengok produk Malaysia...Aku rasa macam terhegeh-hegeh lah pulak baru nak tengok...but seriously. I was truly impressed...Peduli lah orang lain nak cakap apa... And bilalah agaknya, kita nak ada the next P.Ramlee?? Bila lah kita nak ada HERO... tak kira dari bidang apa pun...that we can really be proud of??? Kesian kita...Nak harap Pak Lah..ehhmmm alahai...Shei...

Took the kids to Penang during the last week of the school break last week. The 3 days combined trips to the hotel pool, the Feringghi beach, overdosing of Penang food and last but not least a stop at the Taiping Zoo, which I think made Zaim's day because I have a feeling, he thinks that the animals only exist on TV. I had the privilege of previewing 2 new movies these past weeks before their release to the public...hehe...the advantages of the job... Kabir Bhatia's latest release "SEPI" and Yasmin Ahmad's "MUALLAF". Both movies have their strength and weakness. I'm not qualified as a movie reviewer so I won't go into details here. Catch the movie when it comes out. SEPI premieres on the 20th June while MUALLAF will be later. Walaupun aku ada sikit worry takut tak lepas censorship. Am crossing my fingers for The Storyteller .
