A great start to 2017

Salam, and Happy New Year!
How's everyone doing on this almost the end of the second day of the new year?

Did anyone decide that they are gonna get fit this new year, lose some weight, gain some, eat cleaner, start a new hobby,or maybe work harder this year?

I didn't make any specific resolutions this year.  I just decided that this year my goals are to be kinder and have more good thoughts of people, of situations, of things that happen around me. InsyaAllah, with these in mind, other good things will follow.

We served food at 2 parties in Blokke on the eve of new year. I took care of the brunch session and Liyana took over for the afternoon tea one. I think I am liking this new arrangement. We get some time off, not having to be on site for both parties. And Imran, my second child treated us to a late lunch at Mozer's in Subang Parade. We have always loved middle-eastern food, and this time we ordered the 3 different types of rice, the Chicken Mandhy Rice , Lamb Kabsah Rice and the Chicken Bazilla Rice plus the platter of mix Shawarma, which are all super delicious. All these washed down with seems to be bottomless pot of Arabic Tea. Bliss. and Alhamdulillah for the rizq. May Allah bless you with more abundance, Abang.

Rice galore

Following the passing of my mother in March 2016, I am taking extra effort this year to meet and seek out my siblings more, which could mean more trips to Johor Bahru, where most of them are or Putrajaya, where my brother's family resides after coming back from his postings abroad, all these years. I read once, that maintaining the bonds of kinship  (silatur-rahim) indeed enjoys extraordinary importance in Islam.

We had tea, dinner and supper in Putrajaya yesterday, The kids get to spend time with the 5 cousins, which is rare, as they spent most of their growing years abroad. We really enjoyed the food and stories shared. What a great start to the new year.

Kids and their cuzs

Today we went to Decathlon in Sri Damansara. Khairin, my daughter thinks she wants to start running so we bought her some gears to start her off. Hope for the best ;) . Today was my 2nd time in Decathlon and I love the vibe of the place, especially today being the 2nd January, a public holiday and everyone is still hot on their new year resolutions to get healthier. Decathlon is such a great place to get sporting goods from hiking, to running, yoga to boxing, golf, swimming amd more. Although they carry brands that are less common here, I think they are great go-to brands for people wanting to try out a new sport. And I went ga-ga over their hiking jackets too.

Before Decathlon, I bought myself some new running gears in Brooks at Dataran 32, PJ. I hope to start actively running again. My plantar fasciitis is still an issue but I hope to take it easy and build up mileage as I go along. Call it law of attraction, but today I met Brian, a foot specialist who happened to be in Brooks and he gave me some advice on tackling my PF. Hope to see him again soon to get myself some customised insoles. We'll see how things develop.

The Brooks GTS Adrenaline 15 received good review for PF

Hope everyone had a great start to the  new year.  Love and laugh more this year ok..
