Me, looking back..

Almost year end...the past month has passed me almost unnoticed. I've been really busy. Busy working, busy at home, busy running, busy reflecting.

Dad celebrated his 76th birthday and we took him out for tea at Marche. My FIL has not slept in his own home ever since my MIL passed away a few months back. Sometimes I wish I could read his mind.

I was at the Youth Engagement Summit in Putraya International Convention Center mid last month and had the chance to listen to some of the most inspiring speakers ever. Donald Trump gave insights on how to be a successful person, Randi Zuckerberg spoke about Facebook and its evolution, Sir Bob Geldof (whoa!!!) was larger than life and spoke about his Africa projects among other awesome stuff, Tony Fernandes was his jovial self when he spoke about AirAsia and on the last day, Nando Parrado made me cry when he spoke about his survival from the crash in the Andes. Exhilarating, all the speakers made me feel...Drained...the 3 days left me.

The week after that, I attended a training session for 3 days in the office. Emerging Leadership was the title. To be honest, I was expecting 3 days of dry, boring , one-way session. But it turned out to be the most interesting 3 days. Pal, the trainer was engaging and the session was compelling. Now, how do I apply his teachings to myself is another story altogether.

We had our SIGS batch 1987's class reunion in PNB Darby Park which turned out to be a hilarious, fun, loud affair. I've not seen some of these girls for more than 20 years!! It was totally out of this world! We made plans to see each other again this coming week, this time in JB.

The next day Zaim had his school concert. My boy has graduated kindy and going to big boys school next year! We saw Zaim danced and sang amongst his school friends. I feel so blessed..
We went back to JB for Hari Raya Haji last week. My nephew Aliff is down from Abu Dhabi so we took him along. We stopped by in Melaka to see Owish, Aliff's brother who can't go back to JB with us because of SPM. But it was good to see the reunion of the 2 brothers. Heartwarming and amazing! The values that my brother has managed to instil in these boys are something that I wish we could emulate even if it's just 50%.

It was also so good to see Mak again. She's doing so much better, healthwise except for her bad knees. The ketupat and rendang, somehow tasted so much better in Mak's house. Fayzrul, Zul and Shahril came over to visit and stayed chatting till about 1am.

Hubby celebrated his 41st birthday in JB, coinciding with Raya...A surprise birthday do was the order of the day. Present coming soon...hopefully..

I ran twice for 3km each in JB and hope to continue doing so this week. I've been lazy, in all sense of the world...Must get up and go!!
