Today my Aisyah turned 17..
I didn't realised how the past week has passed until someone asked me on Wednesday " how was your weekend?" and I struggled to remember what I did during the weekend. It all passed by in a blur...and when i thought hard, everything came rushing back. Nenek who has been sick for the past almost 3 weeks has passed on.. When we went to visit her the week before, she was already breathing with the help of oxygen tanks..helpless and I felt hopeless. A week later, she was gone. In the ripe old age of 104. What a good long life she had...I will always remember her sweet smile and how my late husband used to say " Nenek ni cantik lar"..Alfatihah..

As I mourn the loss of a life, Aisyah celebrated her 17th birthday today...My baby is hardly a baby anymore. Wasn't it just yesterday that I first held her in my arms, the whole 53cm of her in just one hand? Wasn't it just yesterday that she was singing "the wheels on the bus" at the top of her lungs publicly in the makan place in Kelana Jaya?Wasn't it just yesterday at 27 months, that she was so brave coping with the loss of her ayah and the idea of having a small lil brother at the same time? Wasn't it just yesterday that she took her first "first in class certificate"? How time has fly and today as she turned 17, I feel all warm and fuzzy and a lil bit sentimental...Alhamdulillah...

We had the cupcakes birthday blow out at midnight and totally surprised her and as I'm writing this, we are waiting for her to come back from tuition class to open her birthday present. We also had a big brownie delivered to her school this morning...I love giving her surprises as she has the sweetest way to give us bear hugs and kisses, which I deliberately wipe off...hahaha!! Mama loves you 'Aisyah! Have a happy, happy birthday!!
