In between takes

I reckon my life now is in between takes, from one scene to another one and I'm taking this short break between the 2.

After a few days break in Medan...am now back home. Waiting for the lil ones to come home from school before my long overdue facial later. And I've not been very good at doing this, writing this. This blog was started for the selfish reason of fulfilling myself and I can't even keep to it...Must try harder..

Medan was alright..the place itself was typically Indonesian. I was looking forward to the break, which I got. I was looking forward to nasi padang, which I got, I was looking forward to the massage, which I got, I hoped I could do some running there, which I did, twice, I wanted to spend time with hubs, which we did and what else is there to it? Syukur, syukur sangat-sangat...Alhamdulillah.

We went straight to Brastagi about 2 and half hours journey from the airport of dwindling and potholed route, which didn't matter because I was sleeping in the car..and when we reached Brastagi, I slept, slept and slept. I woke up for dinner and went back to sleep at 9.30pm Malaysian time. Dunno why but perhaps sleep deprived me, is finally able to sleep without thinking of whatever it was that kept me awake all this while. And I could really sleep, to the amazement of myself and also hubs...

On the 2nd day, we took a cab who brought us to Medan city, if you could call it that..and we stayed in JWMarriot in Medan which is a very nice, swanky hotel..Our room is up on the 19th floor. Everything was great..Very nice breakfast spread, fully equipped gym, nice spa, almost 50 tv channels, beautiful pool. We managed to catch Iron Man at a nearby mall (wooohooo...RDJ!!) and also checked out the local markets (Pajak Ikan, they call it although I didn't see any fishes)

On the 3rd day , after my run at the gym and was just nicely ready after the shower, hubs shouted "Can you feel the room swaying?", which I couldn't compute at that time until I went to the window and we really felt the swaying of the building!! Whoa!! Quickly grabbed what's important and headed to the lobby and a herd of people are already out there. Some still in their sarungs, some in bath robes with towels on their hair and we are told that perhaps it's an earthquake in Aceh. It was quite a scare...but after hearing reassurance the old caucasian man that the hotel was built to withstand a quake up to 7.5 richter scale, we felt comforted but that night I didn't go to sleep without ensuring all our belongings are nicely packed, ready to go, if the need arises, which Alhamdulillah never did.

It's good to be home...It's definitely good to be home...
