These are the movies that I have managed to watch this month despite my buat-buat busy schedule:
The Taking of Pelham 1,2, 3 - Watched DVD at home as we missed it at the movies. I have always loved John Travolta whether he plays a villain or otherwise. I have always loved movies starring Denzel Washington. This psycho thriller kept me sitting up straight in bed while watching it..Giler jahat si John Travolta but I still think he's cool...This movie is different. No leading actress, mostly centers around the two male characters, mostly filmed on the high speed train but still provides plenty of action and thrills.
Astro Boy - The kids loved this. Simple story. Nice animation...walaupun John Travolta lagi comel dari Astro Boy..
A Christmas Carol - From the director David Zemeckis and a Charles Dickens classic with Jim Carrey, Gary Oldman, Colin Firth and Robin Wright Penn's voices among others, this animation is somewhat scary, with talks of death the and eerie looking characters to boot. Zaim got quite scared and chose to doze off complete with snores halfway through the film. The message of the story is typical of a Disney production where in the end, good overcomes evil.
Avatar - I don't think I'm exaggerating in saying that I think this is another masterpiece by James Cameron and I really enjoyed this one. The fact that this one stars Sam Worthington...my latest favourite after Travolta, Mc Avoy, Norton (before he did Hulk), Pacino and De Niro elevate the enjoyment factor as well. Pandora is a beautifully constructed fantasy world but the message is a reality which I found quite profound. It was a beautiful escape for me, which is the reason I watch movies anyway...and anything with "jakesully" in it is worth escaping to... Nak tengok yang tiga D!!!
