Ramadan

Today is the 12th day of Ramadan. Today also marked 9 days since my maid, Ana went on MC. She was about 5 months pregnant last week, when she complained that she has been feeling very tired so she asked for her weekend break last weekend. I told her to check the condition with a doctor. Last Sunday, when she called me she was in tears saying that the foetus has somehow lost its life in her uterus and she has to go through the D&C procedure.


When she first told me she was pregnant a few months earlier, I was quite surprised coz I know that they were not planning for one, after all her husband has grown up children and she herself has a son from their previous marriage. But I guess, you can't plan these things and after her decision to stop working and then deciding to give birth here, I sort of got myself psyched to welcome a baby into our home. But alas, we can only plan.


So we are left to fend for ourselves. Lucky that it's Ramadan and the kids don't eat during the day and I get home from work much earlier, but the laundry is really a chore. Hubs' back on the laundry folding routine...he's so good with it while the kids help here and there. I have always hated ironing but these past few days found myself doing it on a daily basis. Incidentally, this is the Ramadan that we chose not to go to the Ramadan bazaars to buy food so when I come home from work it's straight to the kitchen to cook.So far so good...


The house may be a bit tunggang terbalik but wadehel...I just grin and bear with it..Some things like vacuuming, bathroom cleaning and mopping can wait...for now..I'll wait till they get real filthy before I do them, I call for help from Rubi, the tea lady from my old office.


I hope Ana gets well soon and be on her feet and fit for work.It's times like this that we really appreciate what she does in our home. She's been with us for almost 10 years already. One day she would want to go back to Indonesia for good but for now, as long as she wants to work with us, we are more than  happy to have the extra hand.

Posting from Dreamland

We reached Bali yesterday afternoon at 3pm and was brought to Dreamland Villa that we have earlier booked at the Matta Fair. Mazlan was so nice to come down from his office to meet us briefly at LCCT. I miss his candid jokes and funny sarcasm.. We are now waiting for the shuttle to take us to Dreamland's private beach. After this morning's breakfast of "tak mahu babinya", we need to walk the food off on the beach. Dreamland has been a dream...We chose a private villa with a private pool that we managed to swim in as soon as we arrived yesterday. The beauty about private villas, is that you don't need to bother when you realised you have forgotten your swimming gear. Hey...be my guest and jump with your jeans on or in your birth suit!! We managed to check out Kuta Discovery Plaza yesterday night looking for a currency exchange. Lots of good stuff to see and will definitely revisit before we head home. Yesterday, I received an sms from one of my best friends, Umi, in JB. Umi : Aku nak tanya sikit boleh? Sebenarnya Faizal Tahir tu gorgeous tak? Me: Gorgeous ek...? Well, let me put it this way...kalau dia bukan artiste...kau tak tengok 2 kali lah..hehehe.. Umi : Ye ke? But my freind went to AJL and she said Faizal Tahir tu gorgeous giler!!
